The Process

These are the stages we typically go through during the career coaching process:

1. Needs-Assessment:

The first step is to fully understand your needs and initial goals. This allows me to customize the process and its stages to You. If you are under 18, your input is a top priority, and your parents will also provide their perspectives, support and concerns.

2. Career Assessment:

This stage is about clearly identifying or reassessing your strengths, interests, career personality, values and life goals. This is done via insightful conversations, self-reflection, and career assessments. The main goal is to get a clear picture of your talents and preferences to honor these later when making career decisions.

3. Career Exploration:

In this stage, and depending on your current goals, we will explore different career or educational options aligned with your talents and preferences. You will review information about professional fields, occupations, businesses, industries, majors, degrees from online resources, informational interviews, volunteering, electives, extracurricular activities, job shadowing, and career fairs.

4. Goal Setting:

Based on the learnings from the career assessment and career exploration stages, we will set up career goals that will provide you with a clear sense of direction and purpose. These goals may include long-term career aspirations as well as short-term objectives to work towards.

5. Decision Making and Action Planning:

Once you have set your career goals, choosing among specific work or educational opportunities becomes easier, more intentional and strategic. We will evaluate alternatives (e.g. jobs, businesses, universities, etc.) , weigh pros and cons, and make well-informed decisions.

After decisions are made, we will develop an action plan to achieve your goals. We will identify the necessary steps, such as job searching, acquiring relevant education, gaining experience, and networking.

6. Additional Support:

While executing the action plan, you may encounter challenges or need to make adjustments along the way. I can provide you with ongoing support and guidance in navigating obstacles, assessing progress, and adapting the goals and plan as needed.
